30 years of GVB-geliMED: our journey full of innovation, partnership and future prospects
2024 is a very special year for GVB-geliMED - we are celebrating our 30th anniversary!
Three decades of innovation, growth and exciting challenges. What began in 1994 as a small distributor of pastes and gels has developed into an internationally successful company with a comprehensive range of neurological consumables.
Our history is characterized by strong partnerships, loyal customers and committed employees - and we are proud of every single step we have taken together.
1994: The beginning of our journey
GVB was officially founded in 1994.
In the beginning, we mainly sold pastes and gels, but thanks to an important partnership with Meditec in Parma, we were soon able to expand our product portfolio.
So we began to include electrodes and connection cables in our product range. This was followed by the merger of GVB and geliMED to form today's GVB-geliMED GmbH - the foundation stone for everything that was to come.

1999: From sales to production

As sales figures increased, we decided to set up our own production facility in order to better serve our growing customer base.
Together with Francesco Lisi, the former owner of Meditec, and other partners, we founded the company SPES Medica in Genoa. This partnership - especially with Matteo Mistretta from SPES Medica - has proven to be one of the strongest and most fruitful to date.
By setting up our own production facilities, we laid the foundations for what is now a wide range of more than 7,000 items.
2002: The move to Bad Segeberg

As the company continued to grow, space became scarce. Therefore, in 2002 we moved from Negernbötel to Bad Segeberg to expand both our office and warehouse space. This move was a milestone, as it enabled us to further optimize our processes and respond better to the needs of our customers.
2007: The foundation of GVB-SPES Holding
In order to strengthen the international distribution of our products, we founded GVB-SPES Holding GmbH together with SPES Medica.
This holding company was the basis for the opening of numerous subsidiaries in countries such as Spain, England, Poland, South Africa, Brazil and the USA.
This not only increased our influence on the international market, but also our ability to react flexibly to regional requirements.

2008: The Schröter hood - a classic in the portfolio

In 2008, GVB took over the production of the Schröter hood, one of the best-known products in our portfolio. This takeover was another important step towards diversifying our product range.
2010: The entry into intraoperative monitoring
An important milestone was our entry into intraoperative monitoring in 2010.
With the production of stimulation probes and cooperation with partners such as PMT Corporation and NERVEÄNA, we have been able to expand our range.
Today, our portfolio also includes products such as strip electrodes, D-wave electrodes and laryngeal electrodes.
2013: Focus on sustainability

Sustainability has always been a central component of our corporate philosophy.
In 2013, we adapted to the RoHS regulations and began using reusable resources and environmentally friendly packaging.
Our production processes and products are designed to minimize environmental impact without compromising on quality.
2015: Digitalization of warehousing
With the introduction of the EAN 128 barcode and UDI codes as well as electronically supported warehouse management, we took a major step towards digitalization in 2015.
These measures have significantly optimized our processes and reduced error rates in shipping and warehouse management to almost zero.

2019: Another chapter - all under one roof

In 2019, we moved to our new premises on Ginsterweg in Bad Segeberg.
For the first time, both our office and our warehouse were under one roof, which led to even better internal communication and faster processes.
Since then, we have continuously worked on the further development of our company - from strengthening our sales force to international sales meetings and training our employees. .
2024: A firm eye on the future
The year 2024 is on the horizon for GVB-geliMED is characterized by expansion and sustainability.
We are expanding our warehouse space and increasingly relying on renewable energies and reusable resources in our processes.
With a revamped web store, a modern brand presence and an active social-media presence, we are continuing to write our success story.
A significant step was the entry of the next generation into the management: Laura Geiselberger brings a breath of fresh air into the management, secures the future and manages the balancing act between tradition and innovation.
Our customers always remain the focus - with direct service and reliable deliveries.

Looking ahead: continuous further development
In recent years, we have concentrated on the continuous development of our company.
This includes not only the digitalization of our warehouse processes and the introduction of electronically supported logistics, but also the improvement of our services.
Our customers always come first.
Whether through direct contacts, fast and reliable service or 24-hour deliveries - we strive to offer our partners the best support.
